I'm new to group fitness classes. Are there any I shouldn’t do?
There are no set group fitness classes that anyone should or shouldn’t do and enough variety to ensure that there’s a class for you. Don’t be scared of trying something new. How do I access the club during staffed and unstaffed hours?
It's pretty easy. You must 'fob in' whenever you use the club, even if the club is staff and the door is unlocked. This lets us know you are in the club. The Club has 24 hour access and to enter the Club during unstaffed hours, you must have a valid membership fob, your membership must not be expired and / or have been cancelled, must not be suspended and you must have no outstanding membership fees.
We take your safety seriously and appreciate your compliance and co-operation with the terms and conditions of 24-hour access. Only one member can enter the Club at any one time. It is a serious breach of safety to allow other members, non-members, or children through the door with your membership fob, a $150 penalty will apply. Please ensure the door is secure and closed after you enter and exit the Club.
Under no circumstances are you to share your access to fob with anyone else.
Even though the Club is equipped with surveillance cameras and duress response system Body Basics highly recommends that you wear a personal duress pendant and / or have a workout partner to accompany you while at the Club during unstaffed hours.
It is advised that when performing barbell bench pressing exercises you do not use collars to avoid being caught under the bar and for squatting exercises you use the squat rack with safety rails while in the Club during unstaffed hours.
What if I lose my access fob?
Let us know straight away so we can cancel your lost fob so no one else can use it. Replacement fobs can be purchased at reception for $50.
Can I bring in a friend who is not a member to try out Body Basics?
Absolutely! If you have a friend or family member who is interested in joining or just visiting and wants to workout with you bring them into the Club and they will need to complete a medical questionnaire. We can offer them a free visit. Also, every Friday is FREE FRIEND FRIDAY - Invite a friend or family member to exercise with you any Friday for FREE during staffed hours. Ask at reception for more details and conditions apply.
Bringing non-members into the club outside of staff hours will result in a $150 non-compliance penalty.
Can my children wait for me in the Club while I work out?
Yes, as long as they stay in the designated kids’ area near the reception area and not running around the Club. The Kids area has toys, games and activities to suit all ages, your child can have fun while waiting for you to finish your work out, either on the mat or sitting on the couches.
You are responsible for your child / children when they are in Body Basics.
When’s the quietest time to visit the club?
It does vary but generally on weekdays the club is busiest before work from 5am to 6.30am and after work from 5pm to 7pm. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere pay a visit mid-morning to early afternoon.
How do I use the lockers?
To use a locker on a casual basis while in the Club for a workout, just ask at reception for a locker key for a grey locker in the male or female change room and return to reception at the end of your workout. During unstaffed hours, a few locker keys will be left on the reception desk.
The other choice is to rent out one of out 'old school' metal lockers located in the upstairs corridor or in the cardio area for $15 for the term of your membership. Just pay at reception and let them know which locker you have taken so that it doesn’t get opened and emptied on a quarterly basis.
While care is taken to ensure the security of our lockers, we can’t accept responsibility for items lost or damaged through theft or misplacement.
